CALIRAY X POLARBOX COLLABORATION

PRODUCT DESIGN | MARKETING | PACKAGING DESIGN

The goal of this group project was to establish a collaborative venture between a beauty brand and a non-beauty brand. The class was tasked with researching two brands to identify an opportunity for a mutually beneficial collaboration. The final project was to create three products that best represent both brands based on market research and understanding.

Our research provided us with valuable insights into which products would most appeal to our target audience. From this, we developed three unique items to be featured in our skincare fridge set : a cooling gel sunscreen, an SPF lip balm with a cooling applicator, and a hydrating mist. These products are ideal for long days outdoors when a cool down is needed. We designed the packaging to align with the existing branding of both companies. The skincare fridge uses Polarbox inspired packaging, while the product packaging follows Caliray’s packaging. The packaging is showcased through die lines and rendered in Adobe Dimension.

Through in-depth research, we aligned both Caliray and Polarbox’s brand values and aesthetics, identifying a strategic white space that enhanced their identities. We proposed mini skincare fridges that doubled as coolers, perfect for outdoor activities. These coolers would store beauty products that perform best when kept cold, ensuring a refreshing experience throughout a day in the sun.

The final portion of this project involved marketing toward our target audience through social media posts. Using both brand’s current instagram aesthetic and language we created social posts that would get the user excited to see what this collaboration was about.
